How do I import data(photo’s mostly) from my wife’s notebook to another when notebook #1 has a crushed screen?

    April 13th, 2010

I (accidentally) sat on my wife’s notebook and crushed the screen. The system itself runs fine, although I only checked once because there was broken shards of glass all over the keys and I didn’t want to risk getting it into the sensitive bits. The notebook itself isn’t really worth the repair bill, so how can we recover a LOT of photos and some ITunes. Both systems are Vista. Thanks!

How much does it generally cost to repair a laptop keyboard?

    April 13th, 2010

I have a Toshiba satellite L300D and i spilt water on it some time ago (fail) I took it in for repair and they charged me almost 500$ (i said no) because they said the hard drive needed to be replaced as well as the dvd player and the keyboard. When i got it back i used it and the only problem is many of the keys don’t work. If i just replaced the keyboard how much would it cost and would it even matter?

Is there any chance to repair a notebook dvd burner (slim) if still able to read, but refuse to burn anything?

    April 12th, 2010

It’s well known that the "power" of the lens can be adjusted, to improve performance (that’s a common practice in modded consoles).
You have to use a screwdriver and act on a "regulator".
Is that possible even on a cd/dvd burner (even a slim one, made for laptops?)
    Forgot to say:
It’s a matshita UJ 831 S, and it used to burn WHATEVER format (DVD+-R/RW and CD)
Then it stopped burning CD..Error after 12% written
After some months, same happened with DVD+ (the DVD- were still on its graces)
Now it’s lost the feature completely, it can just read (has no prob on that side, though)

And no, i exclude the soft problem: it went through at least 3 formats, and still shows up the same problems

Why does my laptop try to repair it'self everytime I get a new program and delete it?

    April 12th, 2010

I fear turning my laptop off any more because it seems like every time I do, when I turn it on, it says it was unable to start due to a problem. So it tries to repair itself and in doing so, it deletes any recent things I uploaded. I have friends that uploaded the exact same things and they didn’t have any problems.

What is wrong and how can I get my laptop to stop deleting everything?

I took my notebook in for repair and….?

    April 10th, 2010

I finally got it back after long delay for just a simple problem. My notebook was not charging a piece came loose they solder it back in. But now when I turned it on my color is all messed up. Can this be fixed? Or do i fear they messed something up while fixing this. Its a Dell notebook. Any thoughts?
Yeah. My color was fine before I took it in. But they took so damn long to just do that simple repair that only took a few hours to do. I fear how long they are going to take when I bring it back in saying they messed my color up. *sighs

What is the average cost to repair a laptop that no longer worke due to a spill?

    April 10th, 2010

A week back I spilled a glass of white wine on my laptop keyboard and the whole thing shut down. I took it all apart and let it dry and put it back together. When I try to turn it on it appears to begin booting up then immediately shuts off. I was wondering if I should even bother to get it fixed since a comparible laptop is only 0.
